Majestic Toni

Toni, also known fondly as one-tusk-Toni, is the king of the Way Kambas Elephant Conservation Centre. He is the dominant bull in his prime at the solid age of 45. He is originally from Lampung Barat and was brought to live at the Elephant Conservation Centre in March 1996. He spends his days with his mahout Sakipul Mustoa. Toni lost his tusk when he got in a fight with a wild bull elephant while foraging in the jungle one day. His injuries from the fight resulted in a bad infection and sadly his tusk had to be removed. Toni is often used as a patrol elephant to help with the elephant/human conflicts that exist in the area. As tough as he looks, Toni is now cautious of the wild bull elephants in the area and is often seen holding his remaining tusk. Although his tusk may be gone, his pride is as strong as ever, and all the other bulls at the Elephant Conservation Centre give right of way to his majesty.

Please adopt Toni and help ensure he lives a healthy and happy life well into the future!

We would love your support.
